Was very happy to be back at Invictus International School Singapore for a series of
#cyberwellness training sessions for school educators, focused on the critical role #teachers play in #safeguarding #students online.
In an increasingly digital world, children and teens are navigating risks such as online harassment, inappropriate content, digital addiction, and risky choices and behaviours—often without knowing the possible consequences or how to ask for help.
Online child sexual abuse in particular has been on the rise. Around one in eight children worldwide (approximately 302 million children) were victims of non-consensual taking, sharing and exposure to sexual images and videos in 2024 alone!
The cyber wellness sessions gave teachers the tools to:
⚡️Understand the complex cyber threat landscape that young people navigate
⚡️Identify red flags and problematic behaviours
⚡️Integrate cyber hygiene into their daily activities
⚡️Guide students on navigating online harms in a responsible manner, and
⚡️Bring cyber safety conversations and activities into classroom routines
This kind of training is not just timely—it’s essential.
