❓What does wellness mean to you?
❓How can we redefine wellbeing in our high-performance/high-stress society?
❓Why is cyber awareness so important here?
These are just some of the issues that were discussed in the recently-held EveryDAY WELLness Seminar, which focused on how we live our 5 to 9 (yes, you read it right – 5 to 9) in meaningful ways, focused on wellbeing at the individual and community level.
I highlighted how mindfulness online goes a long way in promoting overall wellbeing.
Being mindful of our online activities – how much time we spend online, the breaks we take, and whether we are balancing online with offline – goes a long way promoting cyber wellness, as well as online safety and security.
Key takeaways included:
🌟Edgar Tham’s brilliant keynote on achieving peak performance through mental toughness and mental wellness, specifically through the PERMA plus model.
🌟Dr Shariffa Syahidah Chishty noted how going back to the basics – rest and recharge breaks, spending time in nature, and good sleep – effectively boost wellbeing in high pressure situations.
🌟The a capella and singing performances by the poly students/young adults was truly soulful and inspiring, and seeing their commitment and volunteerism reassured me that our future is in good hands 😊.
Spending time with the dedicated organisers, volunteers, and participants in an idyllic setting made it a truly memorable International Women’s Day.
Here’s more power to us all and our shared vision of making wellness holistic, accessible, inclusive, and impactful across workplaces and communities 💪🏼.💪🏼
