π—”π—±π—Όπ—Ήπ—²π˜€π—°π—²π—»π—°π—². It’s all everyone is talking about these days.

Yes, Donald Trump and tariffs are popular topics too! Both are scary – and reveal just how dangerous and unpredictable the world has become.

The #Netflix series has shone a light on the murky and harmful #onlinespaces that #youngpeople navigate in their daily lives, and the profound impact it can have – on them, their families, and society at large.

𝘈π˜₯𝘰𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘀𝘦𝘯𝘀𝘦 has understandably shocked adults, especially #parents, who can no longer ignore this grim reality. For this reason, for those of us working on securing online spaces, this series has done us a great favour. The internet is getting more dangerous, and with all the new technologies in the mix, most parents are unaware of or struggle with how to keep their children safer and well online.

At a training session for secondary school #teachers at an international school, I covered:

πŸ’£Various types of online harms that emerge from risky digital contact.

πŸ’£Behavioural, emotional, or social “red flags” that adults should look out for that could indicate cyber threats to children, especially teens.

πŸ’£How to incorporate cyber safety and cybersecurity into regular classroom discussions.

πŸ’£Effective ways to communicate with parents when issues crop up.

We may not be able to do much about tariffs, but we can certainly do more for our online safety and security!
