Two days of warm Turkish hospitality, engaging AI conversations, and cool AI-powered robotics 🤖 at the AI Tomorrow Summit (AITS) 2026 in Ankara.

I was honoured to join this distinguished panel at the AI Tomorrow Summit 2026 in Ankara, discussing The Singapore Model: Strategy, Governance and the Future of AI, alongside Ambassador Kok Li Peng, Ambassador Sadık Arslan, and Laurence Liew.

My thanks to Zafer Küçükšabanoğlu and the Artificial Intelligence Policy Association (AIPA) team for the invitation, and to Prof. Dr. Coşkun Küçüközmen for his thoughtful and nimble moderation.

A few themes stood out from our discussion:

• Agile Governance: Rapid AI adoption and innovation must be balanced with trust, governance, and responsible deployment.
• Talent Ecosystems: The importance of nurturing local talent, and translating AI capabilities into real-world impact.
• Cross-Border Synergy: Combining Singapore’s deep institutional governance with Türkiye’s young, hungry, and entrepreneurial workforce.

People & Leadership — My contribution focused on the human side of AI: awareness, wellbeing, and leadership. As AI becomes embedded into everyday life, AI ethics cannot remain a set of principles on paper. It must translate into practical actions that protect human safety and wellbeing, and promote trust — before harms occur, not after.

I also had the wonderful opportunity to visit Istanbul for a few days (my first visit) and can’t wait to explore more of Türkiye in the future. The hosts were incredibly warm, and it was lovely to connect with so many passionate AIPA members who are driving these vital conversations forward.
