Felt some FOMO for having to skip the AI Impact Summit in Delhi 🇮🇳 this week!
Especially as many critical conversations unfolded that intersect deeply with online safety, security, and wellbeing — our core focus at CyberCognizanz.
Sharing what stood out from what I’ve seen and read — topics that I think merit deeper discussion in the broader AI governance conversation.
It was heartening to see tech and world leaders emphasising that AI must be for the welfare of all. The focus on “Safe & Trusted AI”, governance frameworks, and inclusive AI are significant steps in the right direction.
However, as I reflect on the summit’s outputs, my mind keeps returning to the Human Factor — and the few “quiet” areas that still need much louder advocacy:
🔹 The Literacy Gap Beyond Tech: Critical Digital Literacy
We talk at length about AI skilling and upskilling, but are we talking enough about Critical Digital Literacy? As AI makes misinformation, deepfakes, and synthetic media increasingly sophisticated, critical thinking embedded within cyber awareness programmes is no longer just a “soft” skill — it is our most vital cybersecurity tool.
Equipping people — especially everyday users — to question, verify, and navigate AI-generated content must be part of every national AI strategy.
🔹 Child Online Safety as a Non-Negotiable
It was heartening to hear leaders stand up for online child safety. Unregulated AI has the very real ability to amplify online harms targeting young people — from grooming and exploitation to exposure to harmful content. Safety isn’t just about “guardrails” in a technical sense; it’s about protecting the emotional and mental security of the human at the other end of the screen.
As AI systems become more accessible and persuasive, child safety frameworks must evolve in parallel — and urgently.
🔹 Digital Well-being in the AI Age: The Technostress Factor
How do we ensure that humanity’s “co-evolution” with intelligent systems doesn’t lead to widespread burnout, attention erosion, or a loss of human agency? Technostress is a real and present danger to the global workforce. Organisations deploying AI must account not just for productivity gains, but for the psychological and emotional risks AI introduces to their people and systems.
Human well-being must be a baseline requirement in any responsible AI framework — not an afterthought.
