It was a meaningful weekend attending two incredible events. Seeing the heart, spirit, and dedication in these volunteer-run organisations was truly special.
SINDA Excellence Awards 2026: I attended as an invited guest to celebrate this year’s award recipients, and a few things stood out:
🌟 Youth leading the way: Watching young people drive volunteer-led change in our community and hearing their stories was genuinely inspiring. A huge shoutout to the awardees and the 6 Youth Excellence Special Category winners doing remarkable work here and abroad!
🌟 Redefining success: GOH Minister Indranee Rajah and CEO Anbarasu Rajendran shared a clear message: there is no single path to success. Pursue your dreams, but stay grounded in your family and community. As Anba noted in his own story, a single moment of recognition gives us the courage to do more. Achievement is always a shared journey.
It was lovely to reconnect with familiar faces like Jagdeep Kaur and Nanditha Das (missed you, Raj Kumar!).

SLBA Sri Lankan Female Migrant Workers Outreach Program: I lent a hand with photography to support the Sri Lanka Business Association (SLBA):
🌟 Empowerment in action: The lineup was packed with practical value, from retirement planning and healthcare to safety and security talks with the Singapore Police Force and upskilling sessions.
🌟 Joy and celebration: Vibrant dance performances, songs, and open sharing sessions brought an infectious energy to the room, celebrating these resilient women.

Being with some of my favourite people was the cherry on top 🫶.

Despite their different focus areas, both events were powered by the same beating heart: everyday people stepping up to uplift others.
In a world increasingly dominated by digital noise, AI, and screen time, coming offline and connecting face-to-face is where real human value lives. This is central to cyber wellness too. Technology can connect us, but showing up in person is what truly anchors our communities.
Grateful to everyone who made both events happen and for letting me be a small part of the inspo ✨.
