It was an honour to add some of my own shine at the Singapore India Development Association (SINDA)’s Let Her Shine conference held on May 31, where the power of the Indian woman community was on full display ✨. I shared the highs and lows of my journey:
🔐The challenges of navigating life as a “trailing spouse” with few employment opportunities
🔐Becoming a “reluctant academic” after I applied and got a coveted National University of Singapore (NUS) scholarship
🔐Juggling the demands of a full-time PhD programme with 2 young children and part-time teaching
🔐Trying to secure our future in Singapore when my marriage fell apart
🔐From a “reluctant entrepreneur” to cyber awareness advocate
I also shared 4 lessons in my rollercoaster ride of “Finding Purpose & People in the Chaos”:
❤️Love and Trust Yourself: Pick yourself up when things don’t go your way. Every. Single. Time.
🛫 Seize Every Opportunity: Even if it’s not ideal in the moment.
👯Lean on Your People: The right people will always come (back) to you.
❓Ask and Reflect: What is my identity? What is my purpose?
Mission Cyber, and women and youth empowerment, and my family and community drive me every day, during the uncertainties and the highs and lows.
We all need inspiration and more shine in our lives – and we have it all around us🌟.
